Lot 17: Vacuum cleaners
Ecodesign and labelling requirements for vacuum cleaners were discussed in Consultation Forum in June 2010. A refined draft proposal is now being prepared. Consultation forumwill take place 8 September 2011.
The proposed scope of ecodesign and labelling measurers includes all “normal” vacuum cleaners intended for domestic and similar commercial cleaning. This excludes for example specially trained cleaners as robot machines, hand-held battery operated vacuum cleaners and central vacuum cleaners.
However, the proposal also considers energy label requirements only for domestic appliances as an option.
The working document discusses an energy label that includes rated energy efficiency, cleaning performance, noise level and filtration performance.
