EIFER is a common research institute of EDF and Universität Karlsruhe (TH), located in Karlsruhe (Germany).

Its activity is focused on energy and the environment. The projects performed by EIFER, in partnership with KIT and other academic and industrial entities, are commissioned by Public Authorities (European, German, French) and by the companies of the EDF Group (EDF, EnBW, EDF Energy, Electricité de Strasbourg).

EIFER is a European Economic Interest Grouping (EEIG) registered in Karlsruhe; its Members are EDF and Universität Karlsruhe (TH). EIFER is officially recognized as a Non-Profit Organisation.

A team of 75 persons from 9 different countries is working in the following research fields:
