New Energy for Climate Policy - the 'clean and efficient' programme

The programme Clean and Efficient (Schoon en Zuinig) describes how the
Netherlands is aiming to have one of the most efficient and cleanest energy
systems in Europe by the year 2020. The targets of the new climate policy
are: 1 A reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by 30% compared to 1990 2 A
rate of energy efficiency improvement of 2% per year 3 A share of renewable
energy of 20% in 2020 In this programme six ministries are working together,
ensuring various policy areas are integrated and focused to achieve a
sustainable energy system within a few decades.
