Environmental and Energy Systems Studies is today a division of the Department of Technology and Society at Lund Institute of Technology, but was established in 1969 as the Environmental Studies Programme at Lund University.

Our main goal is to study issues of energy and the environment in a national and global long-term perspective. Our researchers and teachers have backgrounds in various scientific disciplines including technology, natural science, economy, agronomy, political science, and sociology. Typically, our research and courses are multi-disciplinary.
