The EnergyFocusTM Program: Bringing Together Commercial Tenants, Facility Managers, and the UtilityRobert D. Bordner, Todd L. Merkens, and Richard S. Hazzard, Energy Market Innovations, Inc. KeywordsAbstractThis paper provides an overview of a comprehensive, energy efficiency initiative targeting tenants in commercial office spaces. The EnergyFocusTM program was developed specifically to address an area where it has typically been very difficult to effect change: tenant-occupied commercial office space. The numerous barriers to addressing efficiencyrelated issues in this market are well documented, and the EnergyFocus™ program was designed specifically to match the needs of three different parties: facility managers, commercial office tenants, and utilities. In this paper, we provide a discussion of (1) background information (2) program design process, (3) pilot implementation, (4) evaluation results, and (5) recommendations for future implementation.
