Abstract
This paper attempts to analyze the impact of the new trends in energy
efficient lighting design practices on human comfort and productivity
in the modern IT offices. This paper is based on the 15 months Joint
Research Project on Ergonomic Evaluation of modern IT Offices,
conducted by Tata Infotech Ltd. (TIL) and National Institute of
Industrial Engineering (NITIE), India during year 2000–2001. This
project also took inputs from the Energy Management program run by the
primary author at the various offices of Tata Infotech in India during
1998–2001, for analyzing the impact of efficiency and ergonomics on one
another.
