Abstract

This paper is an introduction to DSM and energy conservation activities in Japan, a nation far to the east of Europe. Although these activities are conducted in a country with climatic conditions, natural features, and customs, which are different from those found in Europe, people's expectations of DSM and energy conservation and activities already conducted in both fields are equal.

Information presented in this paper will, as an example of one approach to DSM and energy conservation activity, provide you with a useful source of reference material and serve as a mutual reference for experience transfer.
