Detailed measurements and inventories are being performed in 400 households. Some preliminary results of the inventories are presented in the first part of this paper. In connection with the investigation, two related research projects are being performed, one of which is studying the use of electric lighting. Based on in-depth interviews with households taking part in the investigation, electric lighting usage patterns in different types of households are analyzed. The methodology and preliminary results from this in-depth study on lighting are presented in the second part of the paper.
