Working closely with market surveillance authorities, ATLETE II will help Member States improve their control of labelling and ecodesign implementation measures.

Atlete II press release 25 June 2014: Project demonstrates unique benefits of pan-EU compliance verification and of the importance of the European Commission’s financial support.

ATLETE II evaluates energy labelling and ecodesign of washing machines, the second most important appliance in European households. For the first time in the EU, models will be tested under the revised Energy Labelling directive with the new measurement method.

The project started in May 2012 and is due to be concluded by end October 2014. It is supported by the European Commission’s Intelligent Energy Europe (IEE) programme and is conducted by eleven partners from seven different countries.
