Abstract
SAVE-Transport (SAVE-T) is part of the Dutch SAVE model. The acronym SAVE stands for Simulation and Analyses of Virtual energy use in Energy scenarios. SAVE contains different modules for production (industry, agriculture and construction), buildings (services and government), households and transport. SAVE-T consists of two parts: passenger transport and freight transport. The paper will give a description of the structure of the passenger transport module and will also show preliminary results for one scenario with three variants.
The module can simulate the developments in energy consumption of passenger transport m different scenarios of economic growth, structural changes and technological developments. The model takes mto consideration the effects on energy consumption of saving options like speed limits, cruise-control as well as options which cause more energy consumption per vehicle kilometre like air conditioning, spoilers and the trend of the purchase and use of bigger passenger cars.
