eceee 2009 Summer Study:

The date for the eceee 2009 Summer Study – the 9th to be held – has now been set: Mark 1–6 June (Monday afternoon through Saturday morning) 2009 in your calendar to make sure you are not missing Europe's premier interdisciplinary energy-efficiency event.

What is a Summer Study?

Since 1993, eceee's Summer Studies have advanced the frontiers in energy efficiency policy, research and implementation.

It provides a full working week of formal but yet straightforward sessions and informal meetings, wonderful climate and pleasant surroundings. The image is from the venue of the 2007 Summer Study in La Colle sur Loup. Here, participants exchanged ideas in a relaxed but intensely intellectual atmosphere, had lively discussions and came up with creative ideas.

The heart of the Summer Study is the presentation and discussion of refereed papers in parallel panel sessions. Posters were presented in a session attended by all participants. Keynote speakers addressed plenary sessions and participants could organise informal sessions in the afternoons.

A growing event that took us past the tipping point

We have always believed in energy efficiency. But the 2007 Summer Study broke all records with a 50 % increase in participants and a 30 % increase in published, refereed papers. For some insights into the breadth and depth of the 2007 Summer Study, we recommend the following links:
