Ecodesign and labelling background studies
Background studies have been carried out to investigate the ErP Methodology, functioning of the Directives and resource efficiency. A new study evaluates a so called "point system", to facilitate the implementation of ecodesign measures.
- A technical assistance study for the assessment of the feasibility of using “points system" methods in the implementation of the Ecodesign Directive was launched in early 2016.
- (2013-2014). The study of the review of the Energy Labelling Directive and certain aspects of the Ecodesign Directive was finalised in June 2014.
- The study report Material-efficiency Ecodesign Report and Module to the Methodology for the Ecodesign of Energy-related Products was submitted in December 2013.
- (2012-2013). The study Technical assistance for a material-efficiency Ecodesign Report and Module to the Methodology for the Ecodesign of Energy-related Products aimed to clarify the implications of material or resource efficiency in the application of ecodesign measures and the consideration of non-energy related aspects in the implementation. - (2011-2012) An independent study evaluated the overall functioning of the Ecodesign policy. The aim was to make recommendations for the 2012 review of the Ecodesign Directive.
- (2010-2012) The "study of the Update of the Methodology for the Ecodesign of Energy-using Products", examined the Eup Methodology in order to develop a methodology for the ecodesign of energy-related products (MEErP).
