Ecodesign and labelling requirements for solid fuel boilers was accepted in August 2015.
Ecodesign
The ecodesgin requirements apply to solid fuel boilers with a nominal heat output of 50 kW or less and commercial local space heaters a nominal heat output of the product or of a single segment of 120 kW or less.
The ecodesign requirements will be introduced 1 January 2020.
Labelling
The labelling regulation sets requirements for the energy labelling of:
- solid fuel boilers with a rated heat output of 70 kW or less;
- packages of a solid fuel boiler with a rated heat output of 70 kW or less;
- supplementary heaters,;
- temperature controls; and
- solar devices.
The regulation applies from April 2017.
