2015/1187 and 2015/1189: Solid fuel boilers:

Ecodesign and labelling requirements for solid fuel boilers was accepted in August 2015.

Ecodesign

The ecodesgin requirements apply to solid fuel boilers with a nominal heat output of 50 kW or less and commercial local space heaters a nominal heat output of the product or of a single segment of 120 kW or less.

The ecodesign requirements will be introduced 1 January 2020.

Labelling

The labelling regulation sets requirements for the energy labelling of:

  • solid fuel boilers with a rated heat output of 70 kW or less;
  • packages of a solid fuel boiler with a rated heat output of 70 kW or less;
  • supplementary heaters,;
  • temperature controls; and
  • solar devices.

The regulation applies from April 2017.
