Energy demand in the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean region is growing heavily. A sustainable approach is required in order to address this challenge without placing an excessive burden on the countries of the region. Energy efficiency measures are a central part of this approach: through more efficient energy consumption, the Mediterranean partner countries can benefit from increased economic competitiveness which in turn strengthens further economic growth.

The conference will conclude with a Ministerial session, where energy Ministers from the region will debate the potential for policy measures to support energy efficiency. especially in the framework of the Mediterranean Solar Plan (MSP), a priority initiative of the Union for the Mediterranean.

This will be a highly interactive conference with a professional moderator to ensure lively debate between the speakers in each panel session and plenty of opportunities for the audience to put questions and comments to the panels. The event will also offer ample opportunity for networking with your peers and EIB experts. The working language of the conference will be Arabic, English and French with interpretation facilities available throughout all conference sessions.
