Market Surveillance in focus at EUSEW event

Final outcomes and test results of the IEE project ATLETE II and other related projects will be presented at the EUSEW High-Level Policy Conference in Brussels, 25 June. The event covers conformity assessment of energy-related products in the EU. Registration is now open.

The event will present the key findings of some of the most challenging IEE projects on the topic: Atlete II, ComplianTV and Market Watch. These projects focus on the pan-European verification of compliance of common energy-related household products covered by the EU Energy Labelling and Ecodesign requirements.

The aim of the event is to show that pan-European verification of product compliance is feasible and affordable. It is also a fundamental requirement in supporting the European Commission and the EU Member States in their work to monitor compliance with the EU Directive.

Within ATLETE II, the compliance of washing machines under the Energy Labelling Directive is tested and systematically evaluated with the new measurement method for the first time in the EU.

The goal of ATLETE II is to assist in the effective implementation of the EU energy efficiency legislation and to facilitate the revision of the existing Energy Labelling and Ecodesign Regulations.

During the event, which takes place 25 June 14.30–16.15, ATLETE II will present its final outcomes, including test results, legislative analysis, applicability to harmonised standards, observations, and recommendations to the European Commission and the Member States.

The High-Level Policy Conference (HLPC) 24 to 26 June is part of the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW), and is open to the public. The conference includes 30 sessions dedicated to sustainable energy. Online registration is mandatory and is possible via the conference website from 12 May to 8 June.
