C4E Forum 2018
What is C4E Forum?
In short—not your average conference. The aim of C4E Forum is to build and strengthen Central and Eastern Europe’s energy efficiency community. There are so many interesting efficiency projects, policies and programmes happening in the region and our community can immensely benefit from sharing and learning from them. C4E Forum is a biennial community-building event designed to promote this objective.
The interactive programme combines practical sessions, creative workshops and evening plenaries with high-level speakers and plenty of informal networking opportunities. Professionals and those interested in energy efficiency in buildings from government, industry, NGOs, think-tanks, financial institutions, etc. from across the CEE region all in one place.
2018 Edition
C4E Forum 2018 will take place on 13–16 June 2018. The location will be a beautiful green riverside resort Narvil in Poland, less than an hour from Warsaw. The length will again be 2.5 days with the possibility of organizing pre-conference events at the margins.
Programme
The programme is still under development, but here is a preview of three key areas.
- We are busy getting high-level speakers for plenary sessions, including ministers of several CEE countries for a ministerial panel. Confirmed speakers include:
- Monica Frassoni, President of European Alliance to Save Energy
- Kathleen Gaffney, Senior Programme Manager at International Energy Agency
- Paul Hodson, Head of Energy Efficiency Unit, DG Energy, European Commission
- Przemyslaw Kalinka, Programme Manager at DG Regio, European Commission
- Jan Kriz, Deputy Minister for Section of EU Funds, Economic and Voluntary Instruments, Czech Republic
- Ivan Lesay, CEO of Slovak National Development Bank and founder of Slovak Investment Holding
- Nikolay Nankov, Minister of Regional Development and Public Works, Bulgaria
- What really defines the C4E Forum are the practical parallel sessions where participants share their experience and knowledge with their peers. We already have over 20 session proposals and we are working with the panel leaders on making the topics most interesting and relevant for you through interactive presentations and discussions. Panel discussions will include topics like:
- Renovation programmes and strategies
- Multiple benefits of energy efficiency
- Financing
- Implementation of existing and new policies
- Leadership at local level
- Capacity building
- Buildings and energy systems
- The conference end with a closing talk by a great inspirational speaker, Boyko Vassilev Petrov, Bulgarian journalist, war reporter and documentarist who also interviewed dozens of world leaders. Boyko will give a talk on “How to Navigate the World of Fake News.”
