Join us at the 3rd international conference i-SUP2012 (Innovation for Sustainable Production), held in Bruges from May 6-9, 2012, with “Sustainable Urban Development” as one of the main themes. This congress is organized by VITO (the Flemish Institute for Technological Research) in collaboration with BBRI (the Belgian Building Research Institute).

Dedicated key note and invited speakers give you the chance to be informed of the latest developments in the different session themes on sustainable urban development:
Key note lecture by Professor Dietmar Eberle (ETH Zurich, Switserland) about cities as drivers of sustainability;

  • Sub theme 1 - Tools and assessments with invited speaker Professor Andy van den Dobbelsteen (TU Delft, The Nederlands);
  • Sub theme 2 - Growing cities with invited speaker Christophe Lalande (UN Habitat, France);
  • Sub theme 3 - Smart & sustainable cities; with invited speakers:
    Bart Boesmans (Laborelec, GdF Suez, Belgium);
    Professor David Banister (University of Oxford, UK);
    Douwe Jan Joustra (One Planet Architecture, the Netherlands).
  • Sub theme 4 - Greening cities with invited speaker Derk Loorbach (DRIFT, The Nederlands);
  • Sub theme 5 - Ageing cities with invited speaker from ICLEI (to be confirmed).

We especially favor papers with a multidisciplinary or transdisciplinary approach.
