eceee has partnered with Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, and CIT – Chalmers Industriteknik – a consulting company in Industrial energy, materials, design and circular economy to arrange the next eceee Industrial Efficiency 2020. The event will be held in Gothenburg, in the west of Sweden, 16–18 June 2020.

Deep decarbonisation – time is of essence

During the recent UN Climate Action Summit the “Leadership Group for Industry Transition” initiative was announced. It focuses on decarbonisation of industry, and we are taking the Industrial Efficiency 2020 one step further after previous years’ decarbonisation focus.

The event will have six panels with all our traditional focus areas such as policy and programmes, technology & systems, sustainable production, energy management, energy financing and business models. While decarbonization is part of all panels, we particularly want to highlight the urgent need to accelerate the decarbonisation of industrial processes this year, by introducing a specific panel on this topic.

The panels of Industrial Efficiency 2020 are:

  1. Policies and programmes to drive transformation
  2. Sustainable production towards a circular economy
  3. Energy management
  4. Technology, products and systems
  5. Business models, finance and investment
  6. Deep Decarbonisation of industry

Call for abstracts due early November

We will issue a call for abstracts early November. Abstracts will be due 9 December.

We will welcome abstracts for peer-reviewed papers as well as for so-called “Extended” abstracts. Regardless of the type of abstracts submitted, all accepted contributions will be requested to make an oral presentation in one panel session.

Programme structure

The conference will start after lunch on Tuesday 16 June and end at lunchtime, Thursday 18 June. It offers a mix of formal presentations based on submissions, informal sessions, side events, and plenary sessions with invited speakers. In addition, we welcome other stakeholders to set up pre-conference events to expand the offer and breadth of the event.
