The Swiss Agency for Efficient Energy Use (S.A.F.E.), in collaboration with the Electric Motor Systems Annex of the International Energy Agency’s Efficient Electrical End-Use Equipment program (IEA 4E EMSA) along with the national SwissEnergy program are pleased to announce the Motor Summit 2010. The third Motor Summit will continue the tradition of the Motor Summit 07 and 08. Thus, the Motor Summit 2010 will provide an international forum to debate motor system efficiency issues, such as the latest technological innovations, the current state of market penetration as well as strategies and actions to overcome barriers hindering the widespread use of highly efficient motor systems.
The Motor Summit 2010 will bring together selected experts from research, government and the private sector, with the intent of supporting various ongoing processes in the new IEA Implementing Agreement 4E, the EU Energy-using Products Ecodesign Directive, the harmonized IEC motor testing and energy classification standards, and the USA law on NEMA Premium Motors MEPS by 2011.
The International Strategy day is held on 27 October, the Swiss implementation day is on 28 October. On 26 October two EMSA workshops will be held at the same location on IEA 4E: Testing Centres and New Motor Technology.
S.A.F.E. wants to contribute to the effort of SwissEnergy to reduce energy demand and stabilize electrical energy consumption by 2010 and beyond.
