The National Energy Research Institute and Victoria University of Wellington are joining forces to organise the Energy Conference 2013 entitled: Energy at the Crossroads: Energy Innovation for a Sustainable Society. The conference will be held in Wellington from 12 to 14 February 2013.
Research-based information and advice on energy is critical to developing clear and realistic long-term options for a sustainable energy future. The quality and reliability of energy supply has significant consequences for our economy, social and community wellbeing and the environmental health. Energy consumption patterns are changing, while technological innovations offer new socio-economic opportunities.
In this exciting context, the National Energy Research Institute and Victoria University of Wellington invite you to attend the 2013 Conference ‘Energy at the Crossroads’ that will focus on presenting a broad range of our national energy research capability, and providing a significant opportunity for dialogue between energy researchers, industry and government regarding future research needs and how to enhance this important connectivity.
This two-day conference will include keynote speeches and presentations from leading international and New Zealand-based experts and practitioners on a wide range of energy issues and opportunities. Panel sessions and workshop discussions will ensure attendees considerable opportunities for input and interaction.
The aim of this conference is to stimulate discussion, engagement and collaboration between researchers, businesses, planners, engineers, Maori and government organisations in making informed decisions on long-term options for our national, sustainable energy future. The conference will have a strong inter-disciplinary focus.
We look forward to seeing you in Wellington at the opening reception of the 2013 Conference ‘Energy at the Crossroads’ in the evening of 12th February followed by a stimulating two days of presentations, workshops and discussions.
