Start/Stop Date:
24–25 Jun 2010
Organiser:
Pileslamp PMO
Venue:
Double Treet Hotel, Beijing, China
Focus Areas:
Energy efficiency
Type of Event:
Conference

Drawing on the knowledge and experience of speakers from around the world, the conference is seeking to exchange international experiences of the development and/or implementation of phase-out road maps in both developed and developing countries. The conference will also examine some of the related issues that are clearly of current relevance, ie management of environmental impacts of lighting and the recent developments in LEDs.

The conference is being organised by the “Phase-Out of Incandescent Lamps and Energy Saving Lamps Promotion” (PILESLAMP) project. As you may be aware, this project is a US$70m collaboration between the UNDP, GEF, the Chinese Government and the Private Sector. It is seeking to assist China in developing a road-map to phase-out the production and sale of inefficient lighting, and to increase the penetration of more efficient alternatives into the market. Details of the implementation plans for both the PILESLAMP project, and the “Global Market Transformation for Efficient Lighting” project will be presented during the conference.  A provisional programme is attached.
