Responding to the current climate and economic challenges, the Bulgarian capital Sofia will host again the 10th edition of the Exhibition and Forum on Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy and Smart Cities for South-East Europe from 5th to 7th March 2014.

The event will boost the business between international and local industry players, as well as will underline the significant role of renewables in energy independence and CO2 reduction. How the countries from the Region will develop their utilization in order to meet the tomorrow’s commitments? They have begun the process of diversification of the energy mix and update their national legislation. South-East Europe features a great hydropower, geothermal and bioenergy potential. A new perspective market segment in  solar industry are the 'prosumers' (producer + consumer) due to the opportunity of the consumers to optimize their direct consumption ratio and the cost of electricity transmission.

Taking into account the rapid advancement of information and telecommunication technologies Smart Cities event will present how they could reshape the urban areas into more efficient resource and flexible systems. Significant energy saving can be achieved by investing in renovations of the buildings, smart grids, transport and ICT sectors.
