Call for Abstracts

The Scientific Committee invites researchers to submit abstracts in the following areas:

  • Urban energy systems, planning and development
  • Resource efficiency and environmental performance
  • Key elements in District Heating and Cooling systems
  • Customer relations and market issues
  • Open Arena, District Heating and Cooling

The Symposium aims at gathering the international research community around issues that are important for District Energy development. It is the most significant meeting place for testing research findings and learning about District Heating and Cooling. This will be the 14th edition of the conference which, for the first time, will be held in Stockholm, Sweden. The Swedish District Heating Association, also a DHC research funder through the national program FJÄRRSYN, is the host of the conference.

The Call for Abstracts ends on February 28, 2014. Acceptances will be announced by March 31, 2014. More information is available on the Symposium website.

Information for Students


As a result of the cooperation between the International Symposium on District Heating and Cooling and the DHC+ Technology Platform, we are proud to announce that the 2nd International DHC+ Student Awards Ceremony and a young researchers' session will be held at the 14th International Symposium.

The DHC+ Student Awards recognize students of extraordinary potential who undertake research on issues in the field of DHC, including technological, environmental, social and legal aspects.

Deadline for students' papers is April 18, 2014. Award recipients will be notified by June 21, 2014.
