The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), together with the Central European University (CEU) in Budapest, Hungary, will conduct its third international summer course on “Green Industry: Pathways Towards the Industry of the Future”.

The course consists of a one-month online course with over 120 participants and a two-week in-residence training for 25 selected candidates at the CEU campus in Budapest. It will give participants the opportunity to familiarize themselves with current and expected trends in Green Industry and to:

  • reflect on the technical requirements of green industrial development as well as on the strategies, policies, laws and regulations necessary for its successful implementation;
  • examine institutional platforms for the promotion and dissemination of resource efficient and cleaner production methods and economically viable, socially equitable and environmentally sustainable technologies;
  • develop strategies for a Green Industry in line with socio-economic and environmental goals and targets.

The course is targeted at young professionals and researchers with a background in environmental management systems, Green Industry, resource efficiency and/or global and national policy frameworks for green industrial development. All candidates are eligible to apply for full sponsorship by UNIDO (including course fees, travel costs and accommodation). Alumni from past UNIDO Institute training courses are excluded from participation.
