The EU Energy Efficiency Directive requires Member States to assess potentials for Combined Heat & Power applications and district heating solutions based on regional information. Most Member States have submitted assessments to the Commission.

However, the methods used and the level of details substantially vary from a country to another.

This webinar will present the requirements of the Directive as regards heating and cooling planning and will provide a brief overview of assessments from Austria and Germany.

For Austria the focus will lie on GIS-based assessment of CHP potentials, while for Germany the focus will be on the cost-benefit assessment for industrial CHP. Both presentations will be done by the authors of the studies.
