We have recently launched our report on the charging of urban bus transport titled “Charging India’s Bus Transport”. The outcome of several months’ rigorous research, this investigation is expected to go a long way in facilitating the transition of the public bus transport in a Tier-I or Tier-II city in India to a fully electric format. The study is able to shed some interesting insights into the e-bus and charging technology market and provides definitive guidance to plan to charge infrastructure for an intra-city e-bus fleet. This is arguably the most detailed study undertaken on e-bus transport in the Indian context. The findings of this research are helping in the decision-making of the State Road Transport Undertakings (SRTUs) and private bus operators, state nodal agencies, OEMs, charging service providers and policymakers.

Although this study has been done in the Indian context, we believe, it has a universal relevance; the given approach can be adopted (with necessary customisations) for cities in other geographies.
