The World Energy Outlook 2012 "presents authoritative projections of energy trends through to 2035, and insights into what they mean for energy security, environmental sustainability and economic development".

For the first time, the World Energy Outlook puts energy efficiency in the focus of its special energy resource analysis. The Brussels launch will present the findings and conclusions about the untapped potential of this premier energy resource and confront it with EU energy policy and projections.
The scenarios will also be complemented by a special analysis of the water-energy nexus, as water resources become increasingly stressed. This will be in the context of the growing attention devoted to the sustainable and efficient use of natural resources.
A high level opening speech and panel will provide immediate responses and reflections from politicians, EU institutions, industry and NGO leaders.
