Instructions for abstracts submission

All abstracts must be submitted through the eceee online submission system. You cannot submit a file, but have to type or copy and paste the the abstract text into the system. You will be able to update the abstract until the deadline of 9 December.

The required parts of the abstract are:

  • A title.
  • A few keywords summarising your abstract.
  • Your choice whether you want to write a peer-reviewed paper, or just present an extended abstract (without a paper).
  • An abstract text of maximum 2,000 characters (including spaces).
  • A preferred panel to present your abstract or paper in (you can also add a second and third choice).

The available panels for the conference are:

  1. Policies and programmes to drive transformation
  2. Sustainable production towards a circular economy
  3. Energy management – in real life
  4. Technology, processes and systems
  5. Business models, finance and investment
  6. Deep decarbonisation of industry

See a thorough description of the six panels on the panels and theme pages.

Extended abstract or peer-reviewed paper?

We will accept abstracts both for peer-reviewed papers and for “extended abstracts", that are not peer-reviewed and serve as a short description of your suggested presentation. Peer-reviewed papers and extended abstracts are presented together in the panel sessions. Read more about the review process for peer-reviewed papers here.

Acceptance of abstracts and presentation

One author may submit more than one abstract. An author can however only be the main author and presenter of one abstract, so if you have several abstracts accepted, you will have to appoint your co-authors as the main author and presenter for all but one abstract, or you will have to withdraw them.

All presentations require a registered conference participant, and each participant can only make one presentation. If the author(s) of an abstract do not register for the conference, the abstract/paper will be considered withdrawn and the paper (if applicable) will not be included in the conference proceedings.

Please note that eceee cannot waive the registration fee for authors and presenters.

Inclusion in the Scopus citation index

Accepted peer-reviewed papers will be published in the eceee Industrial Summer Study proceedings, and thereby indexed in Scopus, the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature.

Publication ethics (for peer-reviewed papers)

eceee aims to generate evidence-based knowledge and analyses of policies. Our conference papers and proceedings constitute our most important source of knowledge and information. This means that it is very important that the papers for our conferences consist of original, honest work and that the studies have been conducted in an ethical manner. Our publication ethics is the reasons why have been accepted for inclusion in the Scopus citation index. Read more on our publication ethics and malpractice statement page.
